Wine without alcohol
Non-alcoholic wine has been de-alcoholised. This means that special techniques have been used to extract the alcohol from the wine. During that process, some of the body disappears, but a lot of character and aroma is retained. Because alcohol normally also masks the sweet and fruity of wine, alcohol-free wine often tastes a bit lighter and leaves a slightly sweet impression. Wine without alcohol also contains up to 60% fewer calories compared to regular wine.
In the Netherlands, non-alcoholic wine may contain a maximum of 0.5% alcohol. If you really can or only want to drink wine without alcohol, pay close attention to the alcohol percentage stated with the product and only choose pure 0.0% wines or Halal certified wines.
